Meet Drawing Us Together Author, Olivia

Olivia is a proud Wakka Wakka and Gamilaraay/Bigambul woman who has spent the past 35 years living, working, and raising her family on Gimuy Country. There, she was deeply immersed in cultural practices—learning traditional painting from Elders and engaging in hunting and gathering on Country. With 29 years of artistic experience, Olivia and her husband, Trevor, have become respected artists and cultural educators, known for blending their distinct styles into vibrant works that honour their shared heritage.

Driven by a passion for cultural preservation and education, they co-founded Wirra Wakka Cultural Services—a dynamic platform offering immersive workshops, storytelling sessions, and creative programs that share Aboriginal knowledge with schools, communities, and organisations. Now based in Orange, NSW, Olivia continues her work as a cultural connector and knowledge-keeper, helping communities engage with and celebrate Aboriginal traditions, ensuring her ancestors’ legacy endures across generations.
