Meet Drawing Us Together Author, Trevor
Trevor Gillespie-Peckham is a proud Wiradjuri man with strong ancestral ties to the Muluridji, Djabuganjdji, and Gimuy Walubara Yidinji nations. Raised by his grandparents in the traditional ways of the Wiradjuri, Trevor spent his early years on Country, learning the sacred art of carving and the deeper meanings behind colour, design, and cultural practice. These experiences shaped not just his creativity, but his purpose.
A gifted storyteller and cultural educator, Trevor co-founded Wirra Wakka Cultural Services alongside his wife, Olivia, with a shared mission to deliver meaningful and immersive cultural education. Their work responds to a growing call for truth-telling, knowledge-sharing, and connection to culture.
Now based in Orange, NSW, Trevor continues his cultural journey through dynamic workshops that include yigi-yigi (didgeridoo) performances, collaborative murals, and school-based programs. Each experience invites participants into the heartbeat of Aboriginal culture—transforming classrooms, communities, and perspectives. For Trevor, storytelling is more than tradition; it’s a bridge between people, a way to turn strangers into family, one yarn at a time.
